Dhallywood actress Misti Jannat has alleged that she is receiving death threats. The actress made the serious claim in a Facebook status posted on Monday night (19 May).

Describing the situation, Misti Jannat wrote that since the previous day she had been receiving calls and messages from different numbers demanding extortion money and threatening her life.

She also alleged that threats were being made to implicate her in false cases. According to her statement, when one number is blocked, similar threats are reportedly made from another number.

Earlier, an attempted murder case linked to the anti-discrimination movement was filed at Bhatara Police Station in the capital. Several showbiz personalities were named in the case, including actress Nusrat Faria.

While travelling to Thailand last Sunday, Nusrat Faria was arrested at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

A court initially ordered her to be sent to jail, although she has since been granted bail.

Amid these developments, Misti Jannat’s allegations have raised concern among her fans. Many have advised her to pursue legal action, though she has not yet publicly confirmed any decision in this regard.

Misti Jannat began her film career with Love Station in 2014 and has remained active in the industry since then. Besides acting, she is also a dental surgeon and operates a clinic in the capital.
